This is an easy craft reminiscent of summer camp. The picture you are seeing is the frame in its holder.
Materials:16 craft sticks minimum
Elmer's Glue-All
A photo no larger than 4"
Time: 30-45 minutes
Method: 1) Glue two craft sticks to the sides of the photo.
2) Glue 2 more sticks crosswise onto the first 2 sticks. The corners will have ends sticking out.
3) Continue alternating sticks, moving each set out just a little farther each time, so that the frame builds both upward and outward. When the sticks just meet at the corners, you are finished.
This is a picture of the frame holder. It will allow the frame to stand upright.

Materials: 7 craft sticks
Elmer's Glue-All
Time: 5 minutes to make, longer to dry.
Method: 1) Glue 3 craft sticks side by side. It will be important not to have too much warp in the sticks so that they fit together snugly. This forms the base of the holder.
2) Glue two sticks on top of these, centered so that the joints are covered.
3) Allow it to dry to a tacky stage. I usually have the children blow on it to hasten the drying.
4) Take 2 more sticks that are not warped and glue them lengthwise next to the top two sticks. These are the sides of the holder. It is important to hold the sticks in place until the glue is tacky enough to hold them.
When the frame and the holder are both dry, place frame inside the holder and it will support your frame on your table.
TIPS FOR WORKING WITH KIDS
You may want to do the holder first so that it can get dry first. The kids will want to put their frame into it even before it is dry. Be generous with the glue for this entire project, but especially on the sides of the holder, so that it is solid when the glue dries.
