Thinking Cap - The Crafty LibrarianWhat you are seeing is me behind a paper plate covered with junk. This is my thinking cap.

The website for this hat is not current, but you can search the Fine Arts Department at the University of Florida for more ideas.

Since thinking is so electronic these days, I chose to use discarded computer parts to make my hat.

Yours should be completely different.

Materials:
Heavy dinner-sized paper plate.
Tape
Junk, including feathers, sequins, computer parts, house hold items, paper, leaves, etc.

Method:
Describe what you want the children to do: create a hat that would help them think. Tell them it can look like anything they want it to.
Stand back and watch the creativity flow. Don't offer suggestions, just help when asked.
